It's so- exciting!
It is so- exciting to be six!!!
We had an awesome weekend! I picked Makena up from my parent's house on Friday night. It is soooo- good to have her home. :)
Saturday we met up with one of my friends from high school and his daughter. We took the kids to the Children's Museum and to grab some food. After that Makena and I took off to the park on the way home. We had packed the kite when we left hoping we could find a great place to fly it. Sure enough it was windy and we had a blast running around a great park overlooking the Everett Marina area. The weather couldn't have been any better. We managed to get the kite up in the air after several short attempts where it was too close to the ground. We finally figured out to have a longer string and Makena was able to throw it up high enough to catch the breeze. It was great. Although it finally hit the ground (nose first) hard enough that the frame came through the nylon. We had been at it for a while, so decided to head home.

Great timing as my brother (Uncle Marc) was heading up for some dinner and hanging out.

Today was a typical lazy Sunday. Naps all around for all of us- as it was much needed. PJ played soccer with a couple guys this afternoon while Makena and I worked in the yard and made her a microwave cake (they're so good but I resisted).

THEN- while getting ready for bed (after reading a couple chapters of Dick and Jane)- Makena was brushing her teeth. Her bottom center tooth has been wiggly for a while. A little brushing with the good 'ol Sonicare helped to loosen it a bit more. I've been prepping her lately that it 'might' bleed a little when it comes out. She's so dramatic I was worried that it might freak her out a little so we had been talking about kleenex and water with a little pressure to stop any bleeding BUT that it wouldn't hurt. I showed her how far her tooth would come forward and if she wanted to pull it she would just have to push it all the way forward and it would probably work.

Sure enough- it came out! She could hardly contain myself. I have no idea what the going rate is for the toothfairy- but her hopes are set high. She said she's hoping the toothfairy will bring her $100!! Someday she's gonna make some boy go broke lol. Ahhh- the joys of being six!

(Sharing the great news with Grandma & Grandpa!)
